Beacon AEO — Privacy Policy

Beacon AEO ("the app", "we") helps Shopify merchants generate and host AI-search files (llms.txt, agents.md, llms-full.txt) so AI assistants can understand their store. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.

What we access

With the merchant's permission, the app reads (read-only) the store's:

• Products, collections, and blog articles (titles, descriptions, prices, stock, vendor, type, tags)
• Shop name and domain

The app requests only read_products and read_content scopes. It never writes to the store and does not access customer personal data or orders.

What we store

We store the merchant's settings and the generated file text so the files can be served quickly, plus a log of which AI crawlers requested the files (bot name, file, timestamp) to power the analytics view. We do not store shopper personal information.

Data sharing

We do not sell or share store data with third parties. The generated files are, by design, publicly readable at the store's own domain so AI assistants can access them — this is the purpose of the app.

Data retention & deletion

When the app is uninstalled, or upon a Shopify shop/redact request, we delete the store's settings, generated files, and crawler logs. Merchants can also request deletion by contacting us.
